When a client makes a payment, you need to allocate it to the correct invoice to keep your records accurate. Follow these steps to ensure the payment is properly recorded
1. Go to Accounts > Payments and find or create the payment
2. Open the payment and select the invoice(s) to allocate the payment to
3. Check the received amount and the allocated amount:
If the received amount is more than the invoice total, the remaining balance will be stored as credit for future use
4. Click Save to complete the allocation
