Believe it or not, the biggest general security risk in using Bookem is you and your team.
Here are some steps you should take to protect your business data from unauthorised access and keep client information secure:
Always invite each team member to Bookem with their own email address, and let them choose their own password. Using seperate unique logins for team members allows changes made to be logged for each team member.
What could happen if you don't:
Questionable changes can be made to invoices or bookings. For example, when looking at the revision history of your invoices or bookings you won’t know who was responsible for them.
If a person with shared login details leaves your business, they could continue to access client data remotely.
Your password should be known only to you.
What could happen:
Same story as above
Avoid giving access to other team members to any email address that is used to log in with.
What could happen:
Anyone with access to your login email can request a password reset without your knowledge and make changes under your name.
When you log in you'll have to change your own password and probably blame Bookem or yourself for a glitch: your password doesn't work anymore and now you had to go and reset it...
Do not log into your account on someone else's device and allow your password to be saved.
We suggest the following:
If prompted, don't save your password (especially if you're logging in with Google)
Log out when you're done working on that device
What could happen:
If you remain logged in on someone else's device, they could access or steal your client data or alter financial records
