Bookem allows you to take payments in a way that suits your business You can set up various payment methods, including EFT, online payments, card payments, and more.
You can add multiple payment options, such as:
Bank transfer or EFT
Card payments
Cash payments
Online payments (e.g. credit card via Payfast, PayPal, SnapScan, WigWag, or Yoco)
Other payments (e.g. medical aid reimbursements)
Follow these steps to set up a new payment option:
Click + New payment method at the top right
Select the type of payment method you'd like to add
If you have multiple locations, choose which location(s) this payment method applies to
Click Create to save the new method
Your new payment method will now be available when finalising invoices and allocating payments
When adding a bank transfer or EFT option, you can customise how it works based on your business setup:
Use one bank account across multiple locations
Set up different accounts per location if needed
Choose which account applies to which locations during setup
Add your account details and payment instructions
These instructions will appear on the invoice and help your clients complete their payments correctly.
To accept online payments, you’ll need to:
Create an account with the relevant payment provider (Payfast, PayPal, SnapScan, WigWag, or Yoco)
Follow the setup instructions in Bookem when adding the payment method These typically include entering API keys or account details provided by the payment gateway
Note: Bookem does not charge any transaction fees All fees are handled directly between your business and the selected payment provider.
Once connected, clients will be able to pay invoices online using the method you've linked.
All available payment methods will appear at the bottom of your invoices. This gives clients the flexibility to choose how they'd like to pay.
If online payments are enabled, the invoice will also include a secure payment link QR Code unique to that invoice.
⚠️ Important: Each payment link is tied to a specific invoice and client, these links should not be shared with anyone else.
