Setting up video call services in Bookem

Bookem automatically generates video call links for your virtual appointments - no software downloads required for clients. With the integrated video call feature, Bookem handles everything, so you don’t need a third-party service.

Follow these steps to set up video call services

1. Go to Settings > Services and click '+ New service' in the top right corner

2. Under Where is this service provided?, select Via video call

3. Toggle Online bookings to on

4. Choose how bookings are confirmed:

  • Automatically confirm booking

  • Confirm bookings after payment

  • Manually review and confirm bookings

5. Assign the relevant location, team member, or group to the service

6. Add pricing and duration, then save

Setting up automated messages for video calls

Bookem generates a unique video call link and sends it to clients through automated messages

1. Go to in Settings > Automated Messages

2. Select New notification

3. Select the notification type you would like to create an automated message for. We recommend starting with Booking confirmed

4. Name your message and set up rules for when and for which services the message is sent

Example: A message is sent immediately after a client books a Video consultation or Prescription review video call, every time they book.

5. Compose the SMS and email messages. Be sure to include these critical variables:

  • #Time zone – ensures the client receives the correct appointment time in their time zone

  • #Video call link – provides the unique link to join the video call
